Student visa

The Student visa costs £558 from 8 April 2026 plus a health surcharge of £776 a year. You need a CAS from a licensed sponsor, money held for 28 days, and English at the level your course needs. Maintenance rises on 30 November 2026 and the Graduate route shortens to 18 months for applications from 1 January 2027.

Child Student visa

The Child Student visa is for children aged 4 to 17 who have a place at an independent fee-paying school in the UK. The fee is £558 from 8 April 2026, the health surcharge is £776 a year, and the school issues the CAS.

Short-term Study visa (English language course, 6 to 11 months)

The Short-term Study visa costs £228 (fee effective 8 April 2026) plus £776 health surcharge, and allows an English language course of 6 to 11 months at an accredited UK provider. You cannot work, extend or switch to another visa.
