It lets one parent live in the UK with a child aged 4 to 11 who holds a Child Student visa at an independent fee-paying school. You cannot work on it. - [Transit visa](https://ukvisadesk.com/visas/transit-visa.md): Indian passport holders changing flights in the UK usually need a transit visa: a Direct Airside Transit visa at £41.50 if you stay airside, or a Visitor in Transit visa at £74.50 if you pass through UK border control and leave within 48 hours (fees effective 8 April 2026). You need a CAS from a licensed sponsor, money held for 28 days, and English at the level your course needs. Maintenance rises on 30 November 2026 and the Graduate route shortens to 18 months for applications from 1 January 2027. - [Child Student visa](https://ukvisadesk.com/visas/child-student-visa.md): The Child Student visa is for children aged 4 to 17 who have a place at an independent fee-paying school in the UK. The fee is £558 from 8 April 2026, the health surcharge is £776 a year, and the school issues the CAS. - [Graduate visa](https://ukvisadesk.com/visas/graduate-visa.md): The Graduate visa lets you stay and work in the UK after finishing a UK degree. It is 24 months today, 18 months for applications made on or after 1 January 2027, and 36 months for PhD graduates. It can only be applied for from inside the UK. - [India Young Professionals Scheme visa](https://ukvisadesk.com/visas/india-young-professionals-scheme.md): The India Young Professionals Scheme gives 3,000 Indian graduates aged 18 to 30 a 2-year visa to live and work in the UK. Entry is by ballot. The 2026 ballots ran 17 to 19 February and 21 to 23 July, the fee is £340 plus the health surcharge, and you must hold £2,530 in savings. - [Innovator Founder visa](https://ukvisadesk.com/visas/innovator-founder-visa.md): The Innovator Founder visa is for people who will set up an innovative, viable and scalable business in the UK with an endorsement from an approved body. It lasts 3 years, can be extended, and can lead to settlement. - [Global Talent visa](https://ukvisadesk.com/visas/global-talent-visa.md): The Global Talent visa is for leaders and potential leaders in academia and research, arts and culture, and digital technology. It needs an endorsement or a qualifying prize, lasts up to 5 years, and allows settlement after 3 or 5 years. - [High Potential Individual visa](https://ukvisadesk.com/visas/high-potential-individual-visa.md): The High Potential Individual visa gives graduates of top-ranked overseas universities 2 years in the UK, or 3 years for PhD holders, without a job offer. From 8 January 2026 the English requirement is CEFR B2. - [Settlement (Indefinite Leave to Remain)](https://ukvisadesk.com/visas/indefinite-leave-to-remain.md): Indefinite Leave to Remain costs £3,226 and gives you the right to live in the UK without time limit. Most routes qualify after 5 years. From March 2027 the English requirement rises to CEFR B2, and the earned-settlement consultation that closed on 12 February 2026 may change the qualifying period. - [British citizenship](https://ukvisadesk.com/visas/british-citizenship.md): British citizenship by naturalisation is the final step after settlement. You need 5 years in the UK, 12 months with settled status unless married to a British citizen, the Life in the UK test, English at B1, and good character. India does not allow dual citizenship, so your Indian passport is surrendered. - [Dependant partner of a visa holder](https://ukvisadesk.com/visas/dependant-partner-visa.md): A partner joining a Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker pays £819 for a visa of up to 3 years, or £1,618 for longer (fee effective 8 April 2026). A partner of a PhD or government-sponsored student pays £558, and a partner of a Graduate visa holder £937.
