Student visa maintenance funds rise on 30 November 2026

Direct answer

From 30 November 2026 the monthly maintenance a Student visa applicant must show rises for both London and outside-London courses; applications made before that date use the current figures. The 28-day holding rule and the 31-day statement age are unchanged.

Appendix Student sets a monthly living-cost figure for up to nine months, on top of the first year's unpaid tuition. The Home Office has dated the next uplift for 30 November 2026; the maintenance calculator shows both the current and the new figure and tells you which applies to your application date.

The date that matters is the date you submit the online application and pay, not the CAS date or the course start. An applicant whose funds are borderline should hold the 28 days so that the submission falls before 30 November 2026; one who cannot should plan for the higher figure.

Indian loan-sanction letters count only when the loan is from a regulated bank and the letter states the amount is available for the course; a sanction-in-principle does not. The CAS-readiness check lists the exact wording UKVI accepts.
