# India Young Professionals Scheme: 2026 ballots recap and what to watch for 2027

The 2026 ballots for the India Young Professionals Scheme ran in February and July with 3,000 places in all; selected applicants had 90 days to apply with the savings figure and a degree. The scheme is a two-year visa for Indian citizens aged 18 to 30 with a bachelor's degree or above, entered by ballot. The 2026 pattern repeated the earlier years: a February window and a July window, each open for about 48 hours, with selection emails a week or two later.

The refusals the desk saw in 2026 came after selection, not at the ballot: savings not held for the 28 days before the application, a degree not on the UK ENIC comparable list, and a previous grant of the same visa.
